Module 3: Operating Modes & Water Flow Control

Unit 1 of 23

The 3-Way Valve

The 3-way valve determines where water flows. Understanding it is essential for proper operation.

Basic Concept: Think of it as a railway switch - it directs water down different "tracks" depending on position

Why 5 positions matter: Each position creates a different water flow path for different cleaning tasks

How to Change Positions:

  1. Ensure machine is OFF
  2. Grip valve handle firmly
  3. Rotate to desired position
  4. You'll feel it click into place
  5. Verify indicator shows correct position

There are 5 valve positions:

  • 1. External to Pump
    • Flow: External Supply to HP Pump
    • Best For: Fresh water washing and outdoor cleaning.
  • 2. Bucket Fill
    • Flow: External Supply to Bucket
    • Best For: Initial setup or topping up.
  • 3. Pump Run
    • Flow: Bucket to HP Pump
    • Best For: Standard recycling and indoor cleaning.
  • 4. Drain
    • Flow: Bucket to Waste
    • Best For: End-of-day disposal.
  • 5. Prime
    • Flow: Bucket (via Discharge) to HP Pump
    • Best For: Troubleshooting and special priming.
Next unit: External Supply to High-Pressure Pump
